About the Gazette

The Gooseneck Gazette is a free weekly email for folks who rodeo, ranch and farm in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, Kansas and Missouri. It comes out every Thursday, the same morning the US Drought Monitor updates, so you get this week's numbers, not last week's.

The idea is simple: put the numbers ranch and rodeo folks need each week in one place. How dry it is. Where the burn bans are. What calves and hay brought. Which rodeos are this weekend and which entries close before you remember.

How we do it

• Every number links to its source. USDA, the US Drought Monitor, state forestry offices, extension services and the associations themselves.
• If we can't confirm it, we leave it out. We don't guess at prices or round them into new numbers.
• No buy or sell advice. We report the markets. You run your operation.
• Event listings are free and never depend on buying an ad. Job posts are free during launch.

Who we are

We're a small Oklahoma-based team that lives and works around ranching and rodeo. We built the Gazette because we wanted this one email ourselves.
